The Chassis
The chassis was built by John Thompson Motor Pressings in Bilston, the bodies were made in Lower Walsall and the final assembly took place in Graisely Hill.
The Engine
The car was fitted with a four-cylinder side valve Coventry Climax engine with a capacity of 1018cc (60mm x 90mm bore and stroke) and an RAC rating of 8.92 h.p. which put it in the £9. 0s. 0d tax class.

- Crankshaft - S.26 high tensile steel stamping, dynamically balanced (three bearings)
- Crankshaft bearings - High pressure cast white metal linings in gun metal shells
- Connecting Rods - S.26 high tensile steel stampings with 3 per cent nickel steel bolts and high pressure cast white metal big end bearings integral with conrod.
- Valves - Silico Chrome heat treated steel, arranged side by side.
- Camshaft - S.14 steel hardened and ground with mushroom head tappets, driven by double adjustable chain.
- Lubrication - Pressure feed to main bearings and connecting rods by means of gear pump.
- Oil sump - Capacity, 6 pints.
Clutch
- Single plate type completely enclosed in bell housing. Spring pressure is adjustable.
Gearbox
- Three speed and reverse, in unit with engine. Gear ratios, 5.5, 10.2, and 19 to 1.
- Gear steel - Nickel chrome, oil hardened
- Gear control - Centre change speed lever with reverse stop.
Brakes
- Internal expanding type on all four wheels
- Shoes and linings - 9 in diameter pressure cast aluminium shoes with Ferodo linings.
- Hand control - Right hand.
Steering
- Worm and nut type with spring loaded connections
Wheels & tyres
- Bolt detachable 19in x 3in. wire wheels 27 inx 4.40 inch tyres.
Fuel supply
The petrol tank is fitted to the rear of the chassis and petrol is fed to the carburettor by an "Autovac" under the bonnet. Capacity 8 gallons.
